What are these things you wonder?

Here are some of them:

1-If you give me $3 I will send you an empty envelope. It is like sending you nothing. Or at least, it is sending you something that has traveled a journey that is the distance from me to you.

You would think that no one would be interested!...

I will only write down things I haven't thought about in over a year. I might have to use objects to instigate these memories. You are not defined by these things!

You are not your bra-size, nor are you the width of your waist, nor are you the slenderness of your calves. You are not your hair color, your skin color, nor are you a shade of lipstick. Your shoe-size is of no consequence. You are not defined by the amount of attention you get from males, females, or any combination thereof. You are not the number of sit-ups you can do, nor are you the number of calories in a day. You are not your mustache. You are not the hair on your legs. You are not a little red dress. You are no amalgam of these things.
You are the content of your character. You are the ambitions that drive you. You are the goals that you set. You are the things that you laugh at and the words that you say. You are the thoughts you think and the things you wonder. You are beautiful and desirable not for the clique you attend, but for the spark of life within you that compels you to make your life a full and meaningful one. You are beautiful not for the shape of the vessel, but for the volume of the soul it carries.

The World's most expensive Christmas Tree is in the UAE!

Recently, the name of the United Arab Emirates has  become a sort of a synonym for modernism (modern architecture, civilization, ...etc), luxury, even extravagance and a bit of excessiveness -I guess!

But this latest news that came to my knowledge rather blows my mind away as I can't comprehend it!

"What is it??" you wonder.
It is this...
The Most Expensive Christmas Tree of the World Ever is in the UAE!
Yes...
Expensive...I do understand with all the late tendency towards extravagance that UAE seems to seriously suffer from or rather enjoy!
But why A Christmas Tree?
Is it a display for its cosmopolitan status now? A message to say that we are the world! celebrating Christmas with the world even though we are such a muslim country!
I don't know...!

Let me hush now and report the news and post the pictures ;)

Abu Dhabi: A Christmas tree has been decorated by jewelry in glitzy hotel Abu Dhabi which it says is worth over $11m (£7m).
The tree is decorated wit items of jewellery studded with scores of precious stones are draped on the tree's branches, along with more traditional baubles and lights which make it expensive and beautiful.
While the tree without jewelry is worth a mere $10,000, the jewellery adds more than $11m to the value, said the hotel's general manager Hans Olbertz.
Manager also told that the hotel's marketing team brought the idea, The hotel has a tree every year, Mr Olbertz said.
But this year, "we said we have to do something different", AFP news agency quoted him as saying.
The vast majority of the population of the oil-rich UAE are Muslim.
But Mr Olbertz said he did not think the tree would offend local sensibilities.
"It's a very liberal country," he said, according to AFP.
Along with stars and lights, watches and bracelets adorn the tree
The Emirates Palace hotel would ask the Guinness World Records to certify the tree as the world's most expensive, Mr Olbertz said.

The bracelets, necklaces and watches which adorn the 13m (43-foot) tree contain 181 diamonds, pearls, emeralds, sapphires and other precious stones.

The tree sits in the sumptuous lobby of the 302-room hotel, which is reportedly decorated with gold leaf.
Asked what security measures were in place to prevent theft of jewellery from the tree, assistant director of marketing Hazem Harfoush said the tree was "good proof that Abu Dhabi is a safe destination".
And the hotel was even safer, Mr Harfoush told the BBC.
"We have 24/7 security, four security guards closely monitoring the space plus security cameras."
Previous publicity-seeking efforts by the hotel include the creation of a $1m Valentine's Day package and the installation of what was said to be the world's first gold vending machine.
Asked whether the tree had brought fresh media attention, Mr Harfoush said it had.
"We've had non-stop interest," he said.

what would you do if you found a Money Tree?

We know that money never grows on trees..
But ...
What if one day money did grow on trees?!

What would people do?

What would you do?

==========

Well, this is what happened the day Sydney (Australia) woke up to a money tree...
Watch the video

Money Tree social Experiment by RaboDirect

In an attempt to “wake up people’s lazy money”, RaboDirect, an Australian online bank sponsored a special experiment that fulfilled the financial fantasies of hundreds of passers-by – a real-life money tree. The event took place in one of Sydney’s park, where a tree was covered in $5 bills, from its lower branches to the top. People were secretly filmed, to see how they would react to such an unbelievable sight.
Believe it or not, the first 100 or so people who walked by the money tree flat out ignored it. Some of them didn’t even notice there was anything odd about the tree, a group of joggers was to busy running to stop and check it out, and passers-by who did stop to analyze it, just took some photos and left empty handed.

The scene is set

Money tree ready for action!

---------
But as soon as a brave individual ceased the opportunity to fill his pockets, a crowd behavior ensued. Some just took one or two bills, from the lower branches, while others employed any means necessary ( like swinging their coats and using their umbrellas) to reach the higher branches. One of the most interesting observations was the altruism of the crowd, as some of the taller people shared their loot with the shorter ones.

The money tree experiment was inspired by Australia’s lazy money. According to statistics, Australians missed out on a total of $$.7 billion in interest, by leaving their deposits in account that paid small interests. RaboDirect wanted to see how people react when confronted with the opportunity to maximize their financial gains.

In a hurry

Joggers bypass the money tree

Is it real?

Does money really grow on trees?

Not fussed?

If only he looked up a moment earlier!

That's more like it!

Earlybirds catch the worm.
